QUEST FOR CAMELOT: DEVON & CORNWALL

WB Marketing Style Guide Art, QUEST FOR CAMELOT, Devon & Cornwall.

• A CARTOONIST'S THINKING PROCESS:
This two-headed dragon with its bickering counterparts featured the voice talents of a prim Eric Idle, and a gruff Don Rickles. I endeavored to illustrate their comically quarrelsome antics, inspired by beloved cartoons with which I grew up. As Cornwall (screen right) screams into the ear of Devon, the reaction registers throughout Devon's half of their body. From the rippling vibration of Devon's opposite ear, to his facial expression, the straightening of his normally-curved horns, his flexed wing, to the tension in his hand and foot, all of the action is comically expressed. The dainty extension of Cornwall's pinky finger adds a humorous flourish, contrasting sharply with the rest of his aggressive action. All of this must be conveyed in a single image, while still managing a visually pleasing composition with a clear silhouette.
