SUPERMAN: The MAN OF STEEL!

Creative Exercise, SUPERMAN.

Just messin' around years ago, learning to ink digitally. This was a very early attempt. I went for a more traditional, old-fashioned style for Supes. The old, barrel-chested variety with the wind-snapping cape, easily confident posture, and winning smile. This is the primary image of Superman in my mind... inspired by the art of the legendary Man of Steel artists Joe Shuster, Wayne Boring, Curt Swan, and the masterful works of the Max Fleischer Studios animated shorts.
