JERRY MOUSE

WB Marketing Art, Hanna-Barbera's TOM AND JERRY, Jerry Mouse.

This was just practice for me, back when I was part of the art staff at Warner Bros Consumer Products. I had always loved the Tom and Jerry cartoons (first with MGM, and then H & B, under director Chuck Jones), but I had never drawn either character before. Once the property was absorbed into the WB family, it became a new challenge for our art team. Unfortunately, I wound up being assigned to theatrical projects like The Iron Giant, The Wizard of Oz, Harry Potter, Happy Feet, and others, so this was my only chance to work on Tom and Jerry, outside of some clean-up work over other artists' drawings.
