USM: MICHAEL MORBIUS

Marvel Animation Character Design, Ultimate Spider-Man, MORBIUS.

In the fourth season of ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN, Dr. Michael Morbius makes his appearance, along with two versions of his monstrous alter-ego. Initially, I tried to adhere closely to the original comic book design, with slight modifications for the sake of modernization. However, after being notified that the storyboard artists were having trouble with the vampire's bat-wings (wings which I was told to make natural, not simply a costume accessory), I had to make some adjustments. This illustration, completed long after the fact as color practice, does not reflect the final version as it appears on screen.
