BUGS BUNNY meets PIKACHU!

WB Marketing Concept Art, LOONEY TUNES, POKÉMON, Bugs Bunny, Pikachu.

I decided to color up this old concept piece, done for Warner Bros Marketing many years ago. My assignment was to create several concept illustrations to celebrate a proposed deal between WB and the Japanese property, Pocket Monsters (Pokémon). After a few tweaks by the great artist, San Wei Chan, I submitted the final clean-up. I have no idea if this art was ever used, or if anything at all came of the deal proposal. The tremendous popularity of anime has continued to inspire Warner Bros to pursue new cooperative marketing strategies, however. And this summer (2019), Pokémon has a new, live-action movie.
