Marvel Animation Character Design, ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN, Doc Ock Holliday.
In the fourth season episode entitled, "Return to the Spider-Verse (Part 2)," our heroes arrive in a Wild West dimension to confront an alternate version of Otto Octavius, Sheriff Doc Ock Holliday!
I was directed to design this character based on Lee Van Cleef's mercenary villain, "Angel Eyes," in THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY. The motif called for was steampunk. According to the original script, Holliday was never to directly handle the blasters at all. I thought this was a cool idea, in line with the mental control the traditional Doc Ock has over his cybernetic arms. I figured the character would simply stand in a gunslinger's pose, his hands held in a quick-draw gesture while the robotic arms blasted away at extended angles. However, the storyboard artists mistakenly depicted Holliday gripping the blasters anyway.
